Junior CPU Design Verification Engineer

Job Details Title: Junior CPU Design Verification Engineer Location: Austin, Texas, USA (primary); additional locations: Oregon, Hillsboro. Business Group: Silicon and Platform Engineering Group (SPE) What You’ll Do Perform functional verification of CPU logic to ensure the design meets specification requirements. Develop verification plans, test benches, and verification environments aligned with CPU microarchitecture specifications. Execute verification plans and run system‑level simulations to verify functionality, characterize performance, and uncover design issues. Debug pre‑silicon failures, including reproducing issues, identifying root causes, and partnering with design teams to drive fixes. Improve verification infrastructure, tools, automation, and methodology for ongoing CPU development. Document test plans, results, and technical findings, and participate in reviews with design and architecture teams. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field. At least 3+ months of educational or work experience in digital logic design and computer architecture. Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, or Tcl). Experience with C++ and SystemVerilog. Preferred Qualifications : Use of AI agents in projects, college classes, or software development. Experience with RTL development and debugging. Experience with x86 or other computer architectures. ASM skills. Version control software (Git). Experience with Synopsys simulators. Behavioral Traits Strong technical problem‑solving skills. Collaboration with engineers across multiple teams. Ability to multitask and work through ambiguity. Clear, concise communication in both written and verbal form. Work Model Hybrid model — split time between on‑site at the Intel site and off‑site. Salary Annual range: $91,150 – $128,690 USD (US).
