Role Description
The Regional Lead is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting Future Plans’ work within an assigned geographic region. This position provides day-to-day leadership for the regional team, including Community Outreach Partners and Adult Career Mentor(s), and ensures that regional outreach, partnership development, participant support, workforce alignment, and service delivery are coordinated and aligned with Future Plans’ mission, model, and strategic priorities.
The Regional Lead serves as the primary regional leader responsible for translating Future Plans’ organizational priorities into coordinated regional action. This includes:
- Supporting strong community partnerships
- Ensuring effective collaboration across regional team members
- Identifying regional needs and opportunities
- Monitoring progress
- Helping remove barriers that may impact implementation
This role works collaboratively with program and workforce leadership to ensure regional activities are aligned, coordinated, and responsive to participant, partner, employer, and community needs.
The Regional Lead is responsible for ensuring that the regional team operates with clarity, coordination, accountability, and shared understanding of roles.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in workforce development, economic development, education, community engagement, nonprofit leadership, human services, program management, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience supervising, coaching, or leading staff or teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field-based or regionally assigned teams with clarity, accountability, and support.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with schools, employers, workforce agencies, community organizations, public systems, elected officials, and other regional partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional internal teams and external community partners.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, relationships, projects, meetings, and deadlines.
- Ability to use data, reporting tools, and regional feedback to monitor progress and support decision-making.
- Ability to communicate professionally with individuals at various levels of business, government, education, nonprofit, workforce, and community leadership.
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and role clarity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and virtual meeting platforms.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and minimum state-required auto insurance.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region and occasionally statewide.
- Successful completion of all required background checks, screenings, and clearances.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience, skills, and demonstrated regional leadership ability will be considered.
- Experience in workforce development, economic development, education, nonprofit management, social work, human services, community development, or related fields.
- Experience working with grassroots and community outreach organizations.
- Experience managing staff in field-based, regional, community-based, or cross-functional environments.
- Experience working with schools, workforce boards, employers, post-secondary institutions, courts, correctional facilities, recovery organizations, reentry programs, treatment providers, developmental disability service providers, or economic development partners.
- Knowledge of regional workforce trends, employer needs, career pathways, training programs, community resources, and social determinants of work.
- Experience with data collection, impact reporting, grant reporting, or program performance monitoring.
