Support Staff

Support Staff are the backbone of service at Lemon Grove, working side by side with servers, bartenders, and managers to keep operations seamless. This role is fast-paced, team-oriented, and essential to creating a polished guest experience. Responsibilities include resetting and cleaning tables, running food, expediting, restocking essentials (flatware, glassware, napkins, ice, and liquor), assisting with dishwashing, and maintaining an organized, presentable environment. Support Staff also ensure guest needs are communicated quickly to the service team. Successful team members bring energy, efficiency, and attention to detail, anticipating the needs of both guests and colleagues. They stay highly visible on the floor, support the service team directly, and help create a welcoming, elevated, and effortless experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete Lemon Grove service standards training to learn products, steps of service, and property standards.
• Follow FIFO procedures, ensuring all products are properly dated and labeled.
• Prepare tables before service: ensure neat, organized place settings, polished glassware, and proper condiments for each meal period.
• Support servers and bartenders by stocking and maintaining stations with plates, glassware, silverware, linens, beverages, and other essentials.
• Greet guests promptly with water and assist across sections as needed.
• Clear and reset tables efficiently between courses and for new guests.
• Run food, assist with expediting, and maintain consistency and timeliness of service.
• Restock liquor, mixers, and supplies for the bar upon request.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
• Breaks must be approved by a manager before stepping off the floor.
• Breaks must be taken before the 5th hour in compliance with labor laws.
• Complete opening, closing, and side work including restocking, removing dirty linens, emptying trash, and keeping work areas clean.
• Maintain guest-facing areasincluding dining spaces, service stations, and common areasto ensure they remain polished and welcoming.
• Anticipate guest and teammate needs, staying highly visible on the floor to support seamless service.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by management to support the overall success of the team and operation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a similar support role preferred.
• Open availability, including weekends and holidays as needed (minimum 32 hours/week for full-time employees).
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and perform in demanding, fast-paced environments.
• Strong teamwork and positive attitude; able to contribute to a collaborative and respectful workplace.
• Basic verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat.
• Ability to lift and carry product cases or kegs up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions during prep tasks.
• Fast-paced movements are required to move between bar and storage areas.
• Occasionally kneel, bend, or climb as needed.

Grooming

• All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance at the time they clock in and throughout their shift, in accordance with Vine Street Hospitality standards.
• All employees with hair below the shoulders are expected to have their hair up in a bun or tied-back neatly.

Other

• Bilingual or multilingual ability is highly preferred.
