Quality Inspector (1st & 2nd Shift)

Pay: $22.00 - $23.50 per hour, depending on experience

Shift Availability

1st Shift

• Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM

• Must be available to work Saturdays as needed

2nd Shift

• Monday through Thursday

• Must be available to work Fridays as needed

Company Overview

Our client is a leading manufacturer of large-scale radiators, industrial fans, sound attenuation solutions for data centers, and custom steel and aluminum components. The facility specializes in metal fabrication, welding, machining, and heavy assembly operations utilizing pneumatic hand tools, hoists, and overhead cranes. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and ISO quality requirements.

Job Summary

The Quality Inspector examines incoming raw materials, manufactured components, work-in-process (WIP) parts, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, company standards, and ISO quality requirements. This position works under general supervision, receiving specific work assignments while independently resolving routine inspection issues. The Quality Inspector collaborates closely with Production Supervisors, Material Handlers, and Manufacturing personnel to support material flow and quality compliance throughout the production process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming materials, manufactured components, and finished products.

• Conduct inspections and testing on raw materials, WIP components, and completed assemblies.

• Interpret and utilize blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and SolidWorks drawings as references during inspections.

• Perform 100% dimensional inspections when required.

• Utilize precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and other inspection tools.

• Identify, document, and quarantine non-conforming materials or products discovered during incoming, in-process, or final inspections.

• Verify and tag incoming materials and components for inventory and traceability purposes.

• Conduct final inspections and audits of finished goods to ensure conformance to customer orders and specifications.

• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation for all inspection activities.

• Facilitate, communicate, and monitor rework and scrap processes.

• Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards and company procedures.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and manufacturing processes.

• Maintain clean and organized work areas and inspection equipment.

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

• Basic computer proficiency.

• Strong mathematical and technical aptitude.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Knowledge of quality control standards, testing methods, and inspection techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, material specifications, and shipping/receiving documentation.

• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes including metal fabrication, welding, machining, and heavy assembly.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively with production, warehouse, and quality teams.

• Ability to prioritize work, remain organized, and conduct inspections thoroughly and consistently.

• Experience using and maintaining precision inspection tools and measuring equipment.

• Understanding of workplace safety practices and occupational hazards within a manufacturing environment.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of Quality Control or Quality Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required.

• Experience with metal fabrication, welding, steel/aluminum components, or heavy industrial manufacturing preferred.

• Experience with electromechanical assemblies is a plus.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Certifications

• Quality Control certification preferred.

• Forklift certification preferred.

• Experience working in ISO-certified environments preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently.

• Move materials up to 75 lbs. with assistance.

• Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and climbing.

• Ability to work at heights up to 15 feet when necessary.

• Visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing and fabrication facility producing industrial cooling systems, acoustic solutions, and fabricated metal assemblies.

Work may involve exposure to:

• Welding fumes and airborne particles

• Wet or humid conditions

• Industrial chemicals and cleaning agents

• Moving machinery and mechanical equipment

• Noise from fabrication and assembly operations

• Indoor and outdoor weather conditions

• Gloves and additional PPE as required by work area

Pay Details: $22.00 to $23.50 per week
