Chief Operating Officer (COO)RCN Capital is a nationwide wholesale lender focused on helping real estate investors and independent mortgage brokers finance non-owner-occupied residential investment properties. We support a range of strategies including ground-up construction, fix-and-flip projects, and long-term rental financing through a streamlined process, dedicated teams, and a commitment to exceptional service.The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for driving operational excellence, scalability, and innovation across RCN Capital's nationwide private lending platform. As a leading direct lender specializing in real estate investment financing, specializing in fix-and-flip, bridge, construction, and long-term rental loans, the COO ensures that all aspects of loan operations, including technology and client experience, align to support continued growth and deliver industry-leading service to brokers, correspondent lenders, and real estate investors.As a member of the executive team, this role serves as a cornerstone member of the leadership team, partnering closely with department leaders and subject matter experts, to translate organizational strategy into optimized performance across loan operations, legal and closing functions, and core systems, while advancing and strengthening RCN's position as a trusted, high-performing lending partner.Required Responsibilities:Operational Strategy and Executive PartnershipAs a member of the Executive Leadership Team, define, set and execute the operational vision across business functions within lending operations.Design and implement scalable operating models to support loan volume, strong processes, and evolving business needsEstablish performance standards, and accountability structures within operations using KPI-driven insights aligned with business goalsPartner with executive leadership to provide strategic insights and drive cross-functional operational improvementsLeadership and CultureLead and develop high-performing operations teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, open communication, and continuous improvementAlign departmental leadership within operations with RCN Capital's strategic priorities and growth objectives, focusing on scalability, innovation, and long-term growthPromote a culture rooted in partnership, communication, and excellenceProcess Improvement and TransformationLead operational initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and consistencyIdentify and prioritize opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, clarify procedures, and improve quality throughout operationsChampion the implementation and adoption of new processes throughout operations, including gathering and interpreting feedback on results and impact for further improvementFacilitate operational alignment through structured change management and strategic partnershipEnsure initiatives deliver measurable outcomes through defined performance metrics and continuous optimizationPerformance Management and AnalyticsDefine, monitor, and continuously refine key performance metrics aligned with organizational goals within operationsLeverage data across operations to inform strategic decisionsImplement and optimize tools and reporting processes to measure, evaluate, and track KPIs, ensuring operational performance and growthPromote transparency through consistent communication of performance insights and outcomesRequired Skills:Deep understanding of lending operations, process and procedure, risk, and regulatory environmentAbility to think strategically and execute effectivelyA collaborative, transparent leadership style that builds trust and alignment10+ years of leadership experience in mortgage, banking or financial servicesStrong background in operations, systems, and process improvementProven success leading operational transformation or large-scale changeDemonstrable experience in executing cross-functional strategies in a banking, lending or fintech environmentEducation:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related fieldMaster's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field preferredWork Schedule:Full timeMonday-Friday, 9:00AM to 6:00PMHybrid work model with first 90 days onsite and 2 days/week in office after in either:South Windsor, CTCharlotte, NCWhy RCN Capital:Growth-oriented environment with opportunities to expand your legal skill setOngoing training and developmentCasual dress policyFree food and beverage programCompetitive benefits, including 401(k)And many additional perksEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
