Account Manager – Fire & Security Service

Twin Cities, MN | Hybrid | Direct Hire | $80,000 Base + Commission/Incentives

Konik is partnering with a specialty contractor to identify an experienced Account Manager – Fire & Security Service to support continued growth within their Limited Energy and Service division. This role will focus on building long-term customer relationships, managing existing accounts, developing new business opportunities, and expanding preventative maintenance and service agreements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in low voltage, fire alarm, security systems, access control, electrical service, or commercial construction and enjoy working in a customer-facing sales environment. This is a relationship-driven role for someone who understands technical solutions, enjoys solving customer problems, and has the drive to grow a book of business.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial customers, contractors, engineers, and end users.
• Manage and grow assigned customer accounts while identifying opportunities for additional service and maintenance work.
• Prospect for new customers with a focus on preventative maintenance agreements and service solutions.
• Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and assessments to understand needs and recommend solutions.
• Prepare proposals, estimates, and scopes of work for service projects, repairs, and maintenance agreements.
• Partner with internal teams to coordinate labor, scheduling, project execution, and customer expectations.
• Utilize CRM tools to track customer activity, sales opportunities, proposals, and forecasting.
• Promote service offerings across fire alarm, security, access control, low voltage, electrical, automation, and related building systems.
• Support customers through issue resolution while maintaining a high level of communication and service.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and additional business development.
• Participate in industry events, trade groups, customer meetings, and networking activities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in account management, sales, business development, or customer-facing technical roles within low voltage, fire alarm, security, access control, electrical service, mechanical systems, or commercial construction.
• Understanding of commercial construction processes, service agreements, estimating, and project execution.
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and standard business applications.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Additional Role Details

• Hybrid work environment after approximately 90 days.
  • Initial onboarding period is primarily office-based to learn processes, systems, and customers.
  • Long-term schedule includes a combination of customer visits, office meetings, and remote flexibility.
• Compensation:
  • $80,000 base salary
  • Commission and incentive opportunities
  • Typical first-year earning potential around $95k year 2 $140-180k, and so on
