Position Highlights Sign‑on Bonus: $15,000 for New Hire, $10,000 for New Grad (eligible candidates) Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 for qualified candidates Location: Winston Salem, High Point, Greensboro, North Carolina Employment Type: Full Time and PRN Hours per Week: 40 Schedule: Various Pay Range: $35.50 - $53.25 Compensation & Benefits Day 1 Health Coverage: Choose copay or HSA‑eligible options starting on first day Generous PTO: Accrual starts up to 25 days per year for vacations, sickness, holidays, etc. Parental Benefits: Six weeks paid maternity leave for birthing mothers & four weeks paid parental leave for non‑birthing parents Retirement: Up to 7% employer‑paid contributions Education Reimbursement: Up to $2,500 per year for bachelor’s degree and up to $5,000 per year for graduate degree Qualifications Graduate of an AMA‑approved School of Radiologic Technology, AMA‑approved ultrasound course, or CMA‑accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program Associate's degree preferred One year patient experience preferred Valid sonography credential (RDMS, RDCS, or RCS) registered through ARDMS or CCI Must be registered in appropriate cardiology specialty within two years of hire Current BLS Certification Responsibilities Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms (2‑D, 3‑D, Doppler, TEE, stress) as requested by physicians following established protocols Record quality information and follow procedural guidelines Explain procedures and side effects to patients or family members Provide echocardiography service at all locations, including portables, variable shifts, weekends, and emergent call coverage as scheduled Operate equipment and ancillary devices to obtain optimal diagnostic recordings Maintain equipment, make minor adjustments, repairs, routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and report malfunctions to echo lab manager Analyze patient medical records for history of symptoms and necessary information for diagnostic procedures Prepare preliminary reports for review by Cardiologist Participate in quality improvement activities; evaluate procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintain logs Review department performance against established goals and implement changes to affect outcomes Maintain confidentiality of patients, employees, and company‑related activities Instruct students, fellows, nurses, or health personnel as requested Communicate technical and patient‑care information according to established processes and timelines Attend Echo Lab meetings and participate in related conferences for continuing education Work weekends, holidays, and on‑call as needed Cultivate a collaborative work environment within the department Level 4 Cardiac Sonographers have additional expectations: Participate in dedicated research protocols as needed Perform portable and lab echocardiograms in inpatient settings on weekends, holidays, and on call (must work in inpatient setting to qualify) Act as resource in absence of leadership team to provide coverage Actively participate in internal and external educational opportunities Serve as role model for other cardiac sonographers Troubleshoot Cardiac Ultrasound equipment issues and ensure resolution Troubleshoot issues with EMR and Cardiac PAC system Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Communicate effectively and professionally with physicians, staff, and other center personnel regarding patient care Communicate with patients across age groups Provide instruction and assess quality of other sonographers' work Strong organizational skills Maintain positive working relationship with staff and leadership Operate in a stressful environment with self‑control Use sound judgment in decision‑making Multitask and prioritize tasks effectively #J-18808-Ljbffr Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist
