Associate Systems Engineer

Job Summary:The Associate Systems Engineer ensures the availability, security, and performance of the enterprise infrastructure. This role focuses on the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of Windows Server (2022/2025) environments, Active Directory, and foundational virtualization technologies. Acting as a foundational technical resource, the Associate Engineer assists with system upgrades, troubleshoots service disruptions, and maintains comprehensive technical documentation to support operational continuity.Job Duties:Monitors and maintains servers and possibly storage systemsAnalyzes and troubleshoots system issues Assists with the performance and coordination server replacements and server buildsMonitors, manages and maintains Active DirectoryActs as a technical resource for the Project Management OfficeCompletes and upgrades system documentationResponsible for remote administration, design and implement of troubleshooting issues, and update/deploy Microsoft solutionsTriage and resolve escalations from the team within defined customer SLAs Be a problem solver - Identify solutions for hardware, software, and network issues Leverage remote support tools to resolve support requests Communicate with clients and project leads in a highly professional and timely manner Other duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:N/AQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Education:High School Diploma/GED, requiredBachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, preferredExperience: One (1) or more years of experience managing multiple systems, required Ability to update and manage technical Tier 1, 2 and 3 escalation issues and identify solutions in fast-paced environment, required Prior experience with HP ProLiant servers, HP Blade chassis, Cisco UCS Servers, preferredLicense/Certifications:Microsoft MCSA / MCSE certification, preferredMicrosoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), preferredSoftware:Prior experience managing and maintaining Microsoft Windows Servers 2022/2025; Windows 11, requiredPrior experience or knowledge of VMWare ESX v8, preferredPrior experience with RedHat Linux v8 or newer, preferredLanguage:N/AOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong oral and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer relationship skillsCapacity to work in a deadline-driven environment while handle multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on detailsCapable of successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environmentAbility to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsCapable of working well under pressure while dealing with unexpected problems in a professional mannerCapacity to communicate and interact with all levels of employees and managementAbility to interact and build consensus among peopleAbility to work after standard business hours and travelIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range: $100,000 - $120,000Maryland Range: $100,000 - $120,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $100,000 - $120,000At BDO, how we show up matters.
