Director of People

For our client, we are seeking a Director of People to join the team of a leader in the Media space. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually Responsibilities Own the end-to-end performance management cycle, including design, execution, and retrospectives Manage total rewards, including compensation band design and benefits renewals Ensure compliance with HR regulations, addressing backlogs and establishing protocols Prepare managers for effective performance conversations and calibration processes Identify and implement automation and tooling to streamline HR processes and enhance efficiency Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, empowering them to make decisions and grow in their roles Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in HR leadership roles, specifically in performance management and total rewards Proven track record of owning the full performance cycle for organizations of 150+ employees Experience in compensation and benefits management, including defending compensation strategies to executives Strong understanding of HR compliance across multiple states, with a history of clearing backlogs Demonstrated ability to build and implement people systems that endure beyond initial implementation Experience scaling organizations in terms of headcount or revenue, with insights into common pitfalls during growth Benefits Real ownership of performance and compliance responsibilities Direct access to executive leadership for decision-making A tech-forward environment that emphasizes efficiency and innovation Opportunities for professional growth and mentorship within the HR team Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
