Market Manager

The Role We are looking for a Market Manager to lead our Ventura County operation. This person will essentially be the general manager of the market, with responsibility across maintenance, enhancements, and construction. You will lead the local team, own the financial performance of the market, develop leaders, build strong customer relationships, and work closely with Strata's leadership team as we continue to grow. We are looking for someone who knows the commercial landscape business and enjoys leading people. Someone who is comfortable being close to the operation, understands the numbers, and is willing to jump in when needed. This is not a role where you sit back and manage from a distance. We want someone who can build a strong team, improve the operation, help grow the market, and create an environment where people are proud to work. This position is in office in Oxnard, CA . What You’ll Do Own the overall performance of the Ventura County market, including revenue, profitability, customer retention, safety, and day-to-day execution Lead the local team across maintenance, enhancements, construction, account management, and operations Coach and develop managers while creating clear expectations and accountability Own the market P&L and work with company leadership on budgets, forecasts, and operating plans Look for practical ways to improve labor efficiency, margins, scheduling, route density, purchasing, and overall performance Partner with sales and account management to support organic growth, customer retention, and enhancement opportunities Build strong relationships with key customers and step into important conversations when needed Make sure our teams are consistently delivering quality work and a great customer experience Build a strong safety culture and make sure company standards and processes are followed Recruit, retain, and develop great people as the market grows Use Aspire and other company systems to create visibility and accountability across the business Work closely with Strata leadership on new ideas, challenges, and opportunities within the market Help integrate future acquisitions into the Ventura market as Strata continues to grow Qualifications Strong leadership experience in the commercial landscaping industry Experience leading a branch, market, division, or similar operation Strong understanding of commercial landscape maintenance, with experience in enhancements and construction preferred Experience managing a P&L and improving operational and financial performance A track record of developing people and building strong teams Strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting customer relationships Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where leaders are expected to take ownership Experience with Aspire or similar landscape management software is a plus Ability to work from our Ventura County office and regularly spend time in the field with teams and customers Strong Preference for active C-27 Landscaping Contractor License What Success Looks Like Success in this role starts with building a strong team and creating an operation that consistently delivers for our customers.
