Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Location: New York

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (10:00 - 20:30) with 2 weekend call shifts a month.

Job Description: We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Phase I and Phase II Recovery to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in anesthesiology recovery, particularly in general, orthopedic, and laparoscopic procedures. RNs must be proficient in phlebotomy and IV placement as these are essential skills required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the PACU setting.
• Administering medications and monitoring patient recovery post-anesthesia.
• Utilizing effective communication skills to explain procedures and discharge instructions.
• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and maintaining accurate documentation using Epic.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of PACU nursing experience.
• Current NY RN license is required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement.
• Epic charting experience is mandatory.
