Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ensuring patient safety and comfort during recovery from anesthesia. This role involves delivering high-quality post-operative care and collaborating with surgical teams to facilitate smooth patient transitions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' vital signs and overall condition upon admission to the PACU.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols.
• Monitor patients' recovery from anesthesia, managing pain and addressing complications.
• Document patient status, treatments, and progress accurately in Epic charting system.
• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and nursing teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placements, maintaining required competency standards.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 1 year of recent PACU or recovery room nursing experience.
• Hold a valid NY state RN license in hand prior to submission.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Epic charting and phlebotomy.
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment with flexibility for floating.
• Comply with Tier 2 travel requirements and RTO policies.
