Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care for Phase I and Phase II PACU patients, across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Monitor airway, breathing, circulation; manage basic airway skills and ETCO2 monitoring; respond to evolving patient conditions and escalate to Rapid Response as needed.
- Administer and monitor analgesia (including MAC and PCA) and support perioperative pain management; ensure patient safety and comfort during recovery.
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, PT, respiratory, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit staff to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Perform mandatory competencies such as phlebotomy and IV insertion; document assessments and interventions in the charting system (Epic).
- Participate in unit activities, including endoscopy/laparoscopic and general surgery recovery, orthopedics (including spine and total joints) as applicable; may float to related areas per unit needs.
- Adhere to patient care standards and unit protocols; follow infection control practices and safety guidelines.

Requirements
- Licensure: NY RN license in hand to submit
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience
- Certifications/Skills: Epic charting experience required; mandatory phlebotomy and IV insertion competencies
- Other: Ability to work in a PACU setting with Phase I & Phase II recovery; patient ratios of 3:1 (days and nights); willingness to participate in weekend and weeknight call; floating may be required
- Location: Candidates outside a 75-mile radius preferred; local candidates within 75 miles will not be accepted
- Start date readiness: 07/20/2026 start date; orientation provided (16 hours)
