About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 17 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Current state RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Proficiency with EPIC - IV start experience - Telemetry experience - Ventilator management experience - Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred Description: Join our Critical Care Float Pool for night shifts with flexibility to meet unit needs as they arise. Nurses will float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity. Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Candidates must possess the skills necessary to manage complex patient care including access and management of ports, arterial line management, and care of ventilated patients. Experience with administering blood products, managing dysrhythmias, and performing phlebotomy is essential. Candidates will be responsible for obtaining 12 lead EKGs and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. The unit encompasses a diverse range of patient diagnoses and conditions requiring a high level of nursing skill and adaptability. It is important to have experience with monitoring and interpreting arterial blood gases and managing multi-system organ dysfunction. Knowledge of infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions is required. The candidate will provide care for patients undergoing special procedures and be comfortable with advanced techniques and technologies.
