Job Description As a Security Officer – Refinery Patrol Driver in La Porte, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage incidents, and report security-related concerns with clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and a TSA issued TWIC. What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a chemical and/or petrochemical setting. Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, tank farms, warehouses, parking areas, administrative spaces and perimeter lines; note and report unusual conditions such as unsecured doors, damaged fencing, leaks and/or odors. Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit of employees, contractors and deliveries by verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials and directing traffic flow per post orders. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting evacuations and/or muster procedures and communicating updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership. Complete detailed patrol logs, shift reports and incident documentation and communicate observations to appropriate personnel using radios, phones and/or reporting systems. Minimum Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located. Possess a TSA issued TWIC. A guard card or license is preferred. Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
