Patient Services Coordinator - Nursing Resource Pool

The Nursing Resource Pool serves the acute care needs of medical, surgical and hematological oncology patients from pediatric to adult and serves as the float pool to meet daily acute care staffing needs. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of recent work experience. Prefer at least one year of recent patient care experience. The department is currently recruiting staff for both shifts:
Dayshift: 2-12/hour shifts from 0645-1915 and 0645-1515
Nightshift: 2-12/hour shifts from 1845-0715 and 2245-0715 with rotating weekends and holidays. Hourly breakdown of salary range based on a 36-hour work week:
Minimum $19.23/hour | Midpoint $24.03/hour | Maximum $28.85/hour MD Anderson Offers Our Employees:

The primary purpose of the Patient Services Coordinator position is to provide and coordinate all tasks associated with patient services within an ambulatory setting; including but not limited to patient scheduling, physician &clinic template maintenance, expediting clinic flow, obtaining vital signs and preparing exam rooms, processing the accurate completion of all charge capture activities, assisting in the identification and authorization of managed care patients, and all other tasks as delegated by the Center Director. Key Responsibilities
Schedules provider appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.
Prepares and maintains daily appointment templates and/or patient records in One Connect.
Communicates all pertinent information to families, physicians, team members, and other patient care areas.
Prepares patient materials and documentation according to established procedures.
Collects co-payments and validates patient insurance and demographics.
Updates payment and patient information Reconciles One Connect cash drawer on a daily basis.
Performs validation of the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ).
Ensures coordination of benefits and assignment of Hospital Account Record (HAR).
Follows standard operating procedures for the institution and center.
Protects the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times. EDUCATION
