About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU License: Valid compact or state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS/BCLS certification required Must-Have: - Experience in telemetry monitoring - Familiarity with Epic system for documentation - Ability to float to different units of equivalent or lower acuity Description: Provide care to patients within the Progressive Care Unit. Maintain a patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients. Utilize skills in IV starts and telemetry monitoring. Previous travel nursing experience preferred. This position offers a dynamic schedule with the opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment. Scheduling involves weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays. Travelers will not be expected to care for ICU level patients and will only work in PCU. This unit provides care for patients undergoing abdominal transplants, including kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants, as well as managing infections, acute kidney injury, uncontrolled diabetes, and hepatology issues. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Special equipment utilized in this unit includes telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, and Dopplers. Candidates must be made aware of urgent compliance with credentialing processes. Responding promptly to credentialing requests is crucial. References from professional leadership are required. Each applicant must have education from an accredited nursing program.
