Pulmonary Stepdown Registered Nurse

Job Overview As a Pulmonary Stepdown Registered Nurse, you will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a regional tertiary and quaternary center. Your role includes pre‑ and post‑operative nursing support, collaboration with medical providers, patient advocacy, and participation in nursing councils and national initiatives. Responsibilities Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting any changes. Perform procedures and other functions as ordered by the medical provider. Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response. Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical‑surgical patients. Required Experience One year of RN experience. Preferred Experience Hospital nursing experience. Required Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN program with completion within five years of hire. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt. Preferred Education Master’s degree in Nursing. License Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC license may apply. Required Certification BLS Healthcare Provider.
