Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring that each patient's rehabilitation journey is closely monitored.
• Provide hands-on therapy utilizing therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and specialized modalities to facilitate recovery.
• Accurately monitor and document patient progress, actively adjusting treatment strategies to optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
• Educate patients on proper exercise techniques and rehabilitation protocols, fostering independence and encouraging active participation in their recovery process.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, which includes Physical Therapists, Physicians, and occupational therapists, to assure seamless patient care.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies, ensuring confidentiality and accurate documentation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Our diverse patient base ranges from adolescent athletes to older adults, each requiring tailored therapeutic interventions that support their unique recovery needs. As a PTA, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals at varying stages of their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• Required: Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Current and valid PTA state license to practice in New York.
• 2 years of experience specifically in an orthopedic setting, demonstrating a strong foundation in rehabilitation techniques.
• Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Must be approachable and demonstrate the ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism.

Preferred Experience

Experience in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems for patient documentation is preferred, as is familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and equipment frequently used in orthopedic rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
