Lead Maintenance Mechanic- 40 Hours

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Plant Operations, this position provides a variety of lead maintenance and administrative functions for the Engineering and Maintenance Department and coordinates special projects as assigned. Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM‑3:30 PM. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the assignments and scheduling of the Maintenance Mechanics and assist them in the performance of their work as needed, escalating issues to the Assistant Director when necessary. Requisition and maintain inventory of repair parts for patient transport equipment, patient TVs, patient‑related furniture and other building materials; report inventory to Financial Services. Work in conjunction with department managers to ensure proper selection and installation of preferred building materials and other specialty items. Coordinate maintenance work‑order assignments on a daily basis and perform repair/preventive maintenance as needed. Provide general renovation and installation services, repairing partitions, ceilings, floors, doors, and windows in a neat, workmanlike manner. Maintain parts inventory and repair patient TVs, patient transport equipment, exam room tables, patient room furnishings, pneumatic tube system equipment, blood pressure equipment, etc. Coordinate installation (project‑management) of specific building systems and repairs, including pneumatic tube system and fire‑stopping. Provide support to the Assistant Director as needed by arranging minor contract repairs and equipment installations. Provide the majority of fire‑stopping throughout the facility, maintaining oversight and verifying proper material and installation by contractors. Complete required paperwork in a neat and timely manner (work orders, requisitions, logs, and daily reports). Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED); vocational/trade school courses preferred. Licensure, Certification, Registration: None required. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Working knowledge of building repairs (carpentry, flooring, Hilti fire‑stopping techniques, TV cable repair) and familiarity with computer use for equipment/data material search. Experience: Four years progressive experience in general building maintenance in a healthcare facility. Pay Range $31.97 – $43.03 per hour, based on seniority, education, training, relevant experience, certifications, geography, job responsibilities, and other permissible factors. Actual compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable.
