Senior Accountant

Client Overview: Our client, a large organization in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Senior Accountant for a highly visible role with strong growth potential. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, confident in owning financial responsibilities, and experienced with SOX compliance, US GAAP, and cost accounting processes. Salary/Rate/Hourly Rate: $88k - $105k Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will act as support for both general accounting and cost accounting processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to take the next step in their career. Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant: Support monthly close and financial reporting through preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidations, and roll-forwards to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Prepare internal financial reporting packages, including management reports and annual financial statements with footnotes, while maintaining ERP system reporting and disclosures. Coordinate audit and compliance activities, including SOX controls, internal audit self-assessments, external audit schedules, and resolution of audit findings to ensure balance sheet integrity. Assist with cost accounting functions, including variance analysis on inventory transactions, and support LIFO/FIFO updates and cost maintenance within the ERP system. Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant: 5+ years of experience. Extensive Excel. Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant: Proficiency in SAP is preferred but not required. Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree is required.
