Senior Accountant

CBIZ Talent Solutions is working with a family-owned real estate investment company who is looking for an accountant to work part time (20-30 hours/week) to assist the CFO in overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including review of financial reports, financial planning, tax, budgeting, accounting and lender and investor reporting. This position will play a key role in developing and implementing financial strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing risk for the organization. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. Responsibilities: Communication with internal staff, remote accounting teams, and property managers and their accounting teams, along with working with the principals of the company. Review entities and properties. Review of the monthly financial reporting package provided by the remote accounting team and property management companies. Review lease, rent rolls, and rent increase schedules. Renew loans and promissory notes for entities and properties. Review entities that issue quarterly distributions to ensure timely delivery to investors. Work with remote accounting team and property managers to complete quarterly cash surplus schedules and investor reporting. Adhere to the monthly, quarterly, and yearly due dates for Investor and bank/lender reporting. Respond to bank/lender inquiries and requests. Communicate with remote accountants and property management companies on closing the year end in a timely manner. Prepare and provide list of documents needed for all year-end financial statement reviews and tax returns to the accountants/consultants. Assist with the preparation of annual budgets. Assist with and monitor other annual ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities. Manage SharePoint filing system. Qualifications: BA degree in accounting with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Controller or senior level accounting position. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams. Yardi, QBO and Bill.com Experience a Plus. Ability to self-manage with strong motivation and willingness to take initiative. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of management and associates.
