Job Description Single Hospital Coverage – Flexible Scheduling McLaren Flint is supporting the recruitment of a Neurologist for a busy and well-respected private Neurology practice in Flint, Michigan. This position is to join a Physician who has been serving Flint and its surrounding communities for over 16 years. Majority of responsibilities will include inpatient rounding and consultations at McLaren Flint hospital with some weekend responsibilities. McLaren Flint hospital is the hub for our McLaren Neurosciences program that includes the McLaren Stroke Program with a Neuro ICU and stepdown management for patients needing broad scope neurology/neurological services. The Neuro Critical Care team includes Neuro Intensivists, Interventional Neurologists specializing in stroke management, Neurosurgeons and outpatient-based Neurology specialists. Together, the team coordinates medical and surgical Neuro ICU services of patients originating from all regions of Michigan. Facility Highlights McLaren Flint is a 378-bed tertiary teaching facility located in Flint, Michigan, serving the medical needs of residents in greater Genesee County and Mideast Michigan. McLaren Flint is affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in its medical residency programs including family practice, internal medicine, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery. McLaren Flint also maintains vascular surgery, health psychology and cardiology fellowship programs in partnership with Michigan State University. The hospital is certified as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, a Comprehensive Stroke Center (Joint Commission), and a BCBSM Blue Distinction Center for Hip and Knee Replacement and Spine Surgery. Fenton, Michigan is located in southern Genesee County with portions in Livingston and Oakland counties. Located on US-23, the historical city was first established in 1834 and was originally named Dibbleville after Clark Dibble, one of the first settlers. It was platted in 1837 as Fentonville by William M. Fenton who would later become lieutenant-governor of Michigan. When the settlement was incorporated as a village in 1863 the name Fenton was used.
