Compensation Type Yearly Location One of the longest‑standing hotels in Downtown L.A., Hotel Figueroa recently completed a stunning restoration by award‑winning design agency Studio Collective. Hotel Figueroa’s fierce spirit is now matched with modern touches, all while respecting the property’s original footprint and Spanish Colonial design. The hotel boasts 268 rooms and suites, five F&B outlets, and a landscaped courtyard featuring its iconic coffin‑shaped pool. Hotel Figueroa’s vibrant arts program includes rotating art exhibits showcasing the works of L.A.’s most compelling female artists — an homage to its founding in 1926 as the largest project to have been financed, owned and operated by women. Responsibilities Assist in administering and managing housekeeping functions and serve as housekeeping receptionist. Manage daily room attendant assignments according to established productivity guidelines. Communicate with associates regarding schedule changes due to business needs in accordance with established guidelines. Prepare daily task assignments for all housekeeping staff and follow up on completion. Review and prepare VIP checklists and VIP rooms. Manage and assign deep‑clean projects, and log all projects. Ensure that all special requests are completed. Answer telephone, two‑way radio, and other communication technologies, dispatching appropriate personnel. Maintain constant communication with other departments. Monitor room status—out‑of‑order, out‑of‑service, discrepant, show rooms, and VIP rooms. Maintain “Lost and Found” procedures and policies according to standards. Track guest traces, order, log, and return rental equipment. Maintain orderliness of laundry/dry‑cleaning pick‑up and delivery. Record housekeeping attendance daily. Issue keys and maintain key control system as applicable. Complete maintenance requests daily and track completion. Ensure overall guest satisfaction. Attend all required department trainings and meetings. Perform any other duties required by the hotel. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Two or three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred; college coursework in a related field helpful. Must report to work on time and adhere to scheduled shifts. Must stand and/or walk for extended periods; meet standards of appearance and personal hygiene at all times. Effective verbal and written communication in English with guests, management, and co‑workers. Computer literacy: Property Management Systems, Microsoft Office, payroll systems, spreadsheets, and word processing. Physical requirements: up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects; flexible long hours sometimes required. Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. Effective listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. Ability to anticipate, prevent, identify, and solve problems as necessary. Ability to understand and evaluate complex information from various sources. Assist in implementing solutions and maximizing productivity. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service‑oriented manner. Participate in MO‑D coverage as required.
