Schedule Day Shift, Mon – Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM What you’ll do on a typical day Inspect incoming or disposition material to align with approved documents, based on statistical sampling Understand the Non-Conforming Event (NCE) system and generate NCEs for non-conformances Identify and segregate non-conforming materials for incoming inspections; move non-conforming material to designated areas using a pallet jack for heavy items Perform part history reviews and First Article inspections Review vendor-supplied documentation, inspection results, and inspected material acceptability Assist with tracking work completion; conduct NCE failure investigations, develop action plans, and perform effectiveness verifications Maintain compliance with all quality requirements; adhere to the 7S program and quality policy Participate in the team to ensure contract goals and objectives are met Perform inspection of machine parts and castings using various inspection techniques to assure functional performance according to drawing specifications Conduct receiving inspection and testing of incoming material received at other sites Validate and disposition defects for both hardware and documentation quality notifications (QN) Participate in cause and corrective actions to alleviate production difficulties What you need to succeed at GXO 1 year of experience in quality assurance or auditing in a distribution, manufacturing, or distribution environment Ability to read and understand drawings and related quality procedures; experience with calibrated measuring instruments Basic skills using electrical and mechanical measurement tools Ability to read and write legibly Ability to interpret specifications to ensure product conformance of mechanical, optical, and electrical components Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Associate or technical degree is a plus Experience working with ISO9001 and initiating corrective action processes for receivables 3 years of experience as a receiving inspector, including measuring components to drawing specifications Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) and Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or equivalent industry experience Ability to demonstrate use of digital, dial, and Vernier calipers; inside and outside micrometers; depth and height gauges Extensive experience with open setups to inspect orientation, location, and form Extensive experience with blueprints, MIL‑STDs, technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering documents Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Strong reading, writing, verbal, and presentation skills at various management levels Ability to work within a technical environment, developing and implementing solutions to challenges in quality systems and process control Incoming and/or production inspection experience Interpersonal skills and ability to work well with employees, teammates, and customers Effective written and verbal communication skills for precise result descriptions Experience in material and inventory control systems such as SAP (PRISM) Strong desire for safety and security Ability to support on weekends and extended hours on a surge basis Ability to perform job assignments with little to no assistance High school diploma or equivalent (if not holding a higher degree) Experience using drawings, manuals, and diagrams to coordinate installation of equipment and components according to specifications Ability to influence without authority Proficiency in PC‑DMIS, AutoCad, or Pro‑E (if applicable) Mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing inspection skills (if applicable) Benefits Competitive compensation and a generous benefits package, including full health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), 401(k), life insurance, disability, and more.
