Finance Analyst

About the role: The Financial Analyst has the responsibility of providing financial analysis, reporting to site controller. Develop and implement systems, process, and financial models to support management. This is a US-only role. We will consider remote candidates, with a preference for a candidate local to Columbia, SC, who can work a mobile or hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead monthly financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes, collaborating with operations and cost center managers. Analyze cost trends, spending patterns, and important operational drivers to identify risks, opportunities, and potential cost savings. Prepare and post monthly journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis. Perform detailed variance analysis of actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior year performance, providing relevant recommendations to management. Partner with operations leadership to improve cost performance, enhance productivity, and guide operational efficiencies. Develop financial models supporting business planning, investment decisions, capacity planning, and projects. Prepare monthly operating review (MOR) packages, forecast updates, and management presentations highlighting necessary financial drivers and performance trends. Monitor cost center spending and provide financial guidance to managers to ensure agreement on budget and goals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA. 4 plus years of broad-based finance experience, in analytical roles. Proven track record concerning knowledge of financial processes, controls, and associated improvement programs A general understanding of systems and data quality Experience building FP&A models (proficient in Excel) Analyze complex financial information to provide accurate information for decision-making purposes Questions and challenges status quo to drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
