Field Service Technician

Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY: The Field Service Technician will provide support installation and commissioning of custom automation equipment at customer sites as well as technical support for Sales, Manufacturing and the Service Departments. Perform a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance work to maintain equipment, electrical systems, machine repair, hydraulics and pneumatics. Able to work with little to no supervision. ACCOUNTABILITY: * Mechanical and electrical assembly of automation equipment and controls * Work with engineering to commission and test equipment * Support FAT and customer product testing * Provide installation support, commissioning and maintenance at customer site or remotely * Complete SAT and service trip reports ADDITIONAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide technical support for Sales, Manufacturing and Service departments * Support installation and commissioning (Travel Required - 40%, including flights and international occasionally) * Troubleshoot and program Allen Bradley PLC's, HMI's, VFD's and Servo Controllers * Understand industrial networks (Ethernet) * Assist in the development and fabrication of new equipment * Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and systems * Complete job duties as required in order to ensure that product is of the highest quality and integrity QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: * 7-years relevant work experience * Vocational training in electrical, mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent experience) * Proficient in Microsoft® Office® suite * Familiar with PLC, VFD, HMI, and Servo controls, set-up and troubleshooting * Ability to read wiring schematics * Good problem solver with the ability to analyze data * Ability to effectively communicate with all levels and functional areas including customers and suppliers DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED: * Experience with assembly of custom automation equipment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment * Requires the use of PPE to include but not limited to; steel toe shoes and safety glasses in manufacturing areas * Requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
