Position Information Position Type: Elementary School Teaching/ Teacher - Grades 1-5 Date Posted: 6/15/2026 Location: William L Thompson School Date Available: 08/17/2026 Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsement Reporting REPORTS TO: Principal, Assistant Principal SUPERVISES: N/A FLSA STATUS: Exempt Purpose PURPOSE: The Elementary Classroom Teacher provides engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with Illinois Learning Standards. The teacher fosters students' academic, social, and emotional growth in a safe and dynamic learning environment, monitors progress, differentiates instruction, and collaborates with staff and families to support student success. Terms of Employment TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 182 Days. Salary to be established by the Board of Education. Evaluation EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Building Principal and/or Dean in accordance with provisions of Board policy. Payroll and Benefits Payroll Schedule: Distributed over 26 periods, every other Friday Health, Dental, Vision Benefits Information: Sick Day Allocation: 17 days total, with up to 3 days available for personal use Life Insurance: $50,000 Pension System: Teacher Retirement System #J-18808-Ljbffr
