2nd Grade Teacher

Title: Elementary Teacher (K-6) Reports To: Building Principal Department: Building Classification: 10 month certified FLSA Status: Not exempt Job Overview Provide differentiated instruction with a variety of assessments in an environment conducive to learning Qualifications This position requires a Self Contained General Education K-9 or Self Contained Birth-Grade3 Endorsement A completed/submitted online application to include resumé and letters of recommendation as required on the online application Ability to work as a team member Must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License or other License as required Past experience teaching the specific class will be considered first; recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will also be considered The ability to speak a foreign language is preferred Performance Responsibilities Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and learning standards Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning Utilize instructional management systems that maximize student learning Differentiate instruction and monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals Plans and supervises assignments for assistants and volunteers Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships Meet professional responsibilities as outlined in the Staff Handbook Continue to seek professional development opportunities as required by the State for license renewal Maintain professional work habits Communicate effectively within the educational community Maintain your Professional Educator License as required by law EVALUATION: As per current State Law and the District's current collective bargaining agreement This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position and is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities.
