Longview is seeking an experienced Human Resource (HR) Manager to lead and manage the organization’s human resources functions. This role is critical in ensuring that Longview has the necessary staff and culture to achieve its mission, while ensuring compliance with employment laws, fostering employee development, and promoting an inclusive, diverse, and equitable work environment. The HR Manager serves as a key resource to organizational leadership and is responsible for recruitment and retention, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, payroll, training, HR compliance, workforce planning, and HR operations. The successful candidate will combine strong HR technical knowledge with sound judgment, confidentiality, accountability, and a hands-on approach to supporting employees and leaders. Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Classification: Exempt, full-time; on-site position Pay: $80,000-$95,000 Schedule: Monday through Friday Benefits: ALL employees eligible to participate in Tax-Deferred Annuity Retirement Plan and SEP IRA Pension plan (after 3 years of employment). Employees regularly scheduled to work 20+ hrs/wk are eligible for Leave Sharing and employer-paid Group Life and AD&D. FT & PT employees regularly scheduled to work 30+ hrs/wk are eligible for paid time off accruals (Sick, Personal, and Vacation), Paid holidays (after 3 months of employment), Tuition Assistance, Ithaca College Courses for Credit, Medical insurance, Health Savings Account, Dental insurance, and Vision Insurance. Responsibilities: Partner with the CEO and leadership team to develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and initiatives that promote an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing workplace that aligns with organizational goals and mission in a 24/7 organization. Manage and execute the full recruitment lifecycle, ensuring all steps are completed including sourcing, job postings, applicant screening, interviewing, references, offers, onboarding, agency utilization, and long-term sustainability. Establish tracking tools and report on standard HR metrics such as vacancies, turnover, and time to fill. Identify trends, recommend solutions, and support organizational decision making and long-term sustainability. Manage the performance management process and system including performance evaluations and performance improvement. Provide guidance and support to the leadership team on employee relations, performance concerns, investigations, corrective action, terminations, policy interpretation, appropriate documentation, and conflict resolution. Interface with insurance carriers and regulatory agencies in processing Longview's responsibilities for workers compensation, disability, PFL and unemployment claims. Ensure HR's readiness for organizational audits and regulatory surveys. Manage the HRIS and related HR systems and ensure employee information is accurate and maintained appropriately. Identify and implement HRIS processes to gain efficiencies and process improvements. Maintain accurate, confidential, organized, and compliant employee records and HR documentation. Ensure organizational compliance with all state, federal, and labor laws. Manage and/or oversee payroll, compensation, benefits, and other employee programs. Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture that reflects the organization's mission and values. Manage the organization's online training program to ensure that required training modules are assigned and completed on a timely basis. Work with CEO on key performance indicators, quality assurance, and metrics. Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture that reflects the organization's mission and value. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. At least 5-7 years of progressive HR generalist experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. Experience working in a nonprofit mission-driven organization, healthcare, and/or senior living is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and nonprofit sector challenges. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills. Proven ability to foster an inclusive, diverse, and equitable work environment. Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other software related to the duties of this position.
