Position Summary The Department of Psychiatry’s Wellness and Recovery After Psychosis Program (WRAP) is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRC II) to assist in the implementation/coordination of schizophrenia clinical trials and epidemiological studies. The CRC II will coordinate startup activities, conduct interviews and data collection, and oversee administrative aspects of ongoing research studies. Main responsibilities include participant recruitment, administering questionnaires, gathering data, managing subject databases, serving as study liaison with regulatory bodies (e.g., Institutional Review Board), and liaising with research collaborators. They will also assist with new grant proposal submissions and preparation of research reports and presentations. The CRC II should be resourceful, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to take initiative, work independently, and handle sensitive information with discretion. Job Responsibilities Oversee recruitment efforts for research studies Enroll study participants, explain research procedures & protocols, and obtain informed consent of subjects and/or their families Schedule appointments, conduct reminder calls/messages, and perform data collection activities with participants Maintain patient study files in accordance with legal and institutional guidelines Review data collection forms for completion and quality; supervise data entry for timeliness and accuracy Prepare and maintain Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals and correspondence, including amendments and renewals Perform administrative duties related to the study’s Data Monitoring and Safety Board (DSMB), track and report adverse events, and collect DSMB-specified data Run statistical tests using a statistical program (SPSS); generate results and summaries. Assist in developing manuscripts, reports, grants, presentations, and data analyses Conduct literature searches and synthesize information as requested Assist with coordinating the collection, processing, organization, and storage of biological specimens in appropriate systems Perform office-related duties such as scheduling team meetings, handling mail, maintaining supplies, faxing, scanning, filing, photocopying, and updating policy manuals Supervisory Responsibilities Train and oversee research assistants Education & Job Requirements CRC II: Experienced Level Position Master’s Degree OR Bachelor’s Degree plus 2–5 years of experience Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or Public Health is preferred Experience Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience is required Experience in psychological research or mental health clinical studies preferred Prior experience with schizophrenia clinical trials strongly preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience with IRB submissions, data collection, and clinical trials preferred Fluent in English; additional language skills in Spanish or Haitian Creole are a plus Effective communication, active listening, and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers; experience with statistical software (SAS, SPSS) and data management software (REDCap) a plus Must successfully complete training in human subjects research certification Note: This position is funded by a 2-year grant. There may be opportunity beyond this grant for integration into ongoing operations.
