Job Summary

Eosol Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Material Manager to oversee and manage all material-related activities for our wind energy projects across Canada. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control within the renewable energy sector, particularly in wind power generation. The ideal candidate will ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement, storage, and distribution of all materials and equipment necessary for the successful execution of our Canadian wind projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement comprehensive material procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets. Identify and vet potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure competitive pricing for all materials and equipment.
• Inventory Management: Establish and maintain robust inventory management systems to track stock levels, minimize waste, and prevent stockouts. Implement best practices for receiving, storing, and issuing materials.
• Logistics and Supply Chain: Oversee the transportation and logistics of materials from suppliers to project sites, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. Optimize supply chain routes and methods to reduce costs and lead times.
• Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure all received materials meet project specifications and industry standards. Implement procedures for material inspection and testing.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the materials budget for assigned projects, ensuring adherence to financial targets and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of supply chain and logistics professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with project managers, site teams, engineering departments, and external suppliers to ensure seamless material flow and address any issues promptly.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all material management activities comply with Eosol Group policies, Canadian regulations, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards. Prepare regular reports on material status, inventory levels, and procurement activities.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve material management processes, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in material management, procurement, and logistics, with a significant portion focused on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience in the wind energy sector (proyectos eólicos) is essential.
• Proven ability to manage complex supply chains and international logistics.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
• Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in material management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Solid understanding of Canadian import/export regulations and customs procedures. Experience navigating requirements related to visa Canada and work permits for personnel, if applicable, is advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
