Referral and Authorization Coordinator

Anchor Co-Living is seeking an Intake & Prior Authorization Specialist to help convert incoming healthcare referrals into approved placements. This role combines relationship-building, intake coordination, eligibility verification, prior authorizations, and follow-up to ensure individuals gain timely access to housing and care services. Key Responsibilities Manage inbound referrals from hospitals, care coordinators, behavioral health teams, community partners, and individuals seeking services. Build strong relationships with referral partners and provide responsive follow-through. Collect and document complete intake information. Verify Medi-Cal eligibility and managed care plan enrollment. Submit and track authorization requests through payer portals and internal systems. Monitor approvals, denials, and pending requests; resolve documentation issues and resubmit as needed. Maintain accurate records in the EHR and manage multiple referrals simultaneously. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in healthcare intake, prior authorization, or medical billing. Experience submitting authorizations to U.S. health plans. Familiarity with payer portals, EHR documentation, ICD-10 codes, and medical terminology. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Fluent professional English (written and spoken). Ability to work full-time during Pacific Time business hours. Preferred Spanish fluency. Knowledge of California Medi-Cal and/or CalAIM Community Supports. Experience with denials, appeals, behavioral health, substance use, or housing-related services.
