Project Manager - Transmission & Substation - North Coast

The Electric Project Manager will be supporting the Electric Transmission & Substation non-major projects team which is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing electrical infrastructure projects according to strict deadlines and within budget which is under 25 million dollars. This role involves coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Electric Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Responsibilities Project Planning and Execution : Oversee the planning, design, and execution of electrical projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, budget constraints, and timelines. Team Management : Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and support staff, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. Budgeting and Financial Oversight : Develop project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Risk Management : Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success and compliance with safety standards. Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all projects adhere to relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and safety standards. Stakeholder Communication : Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, including senior management, regulatory bodies, and the public, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns. Quality Assurance : Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure all project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications. Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications Background in substation projects (preferred or strong interest required) OR construction/project management experience with willingness to learn substation work Exposure to cost management, forecasting, and budgeting Basic familiarity with Primavera P6 (doesn't need to be an expert, but should understand navigation and concepts) Working knowledge of project scheduling principles (activities, durations, dependencies, forecasts) Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP or similar functions) Engineering or business/finance background preferred Open to early-career candidates with strong aptitude and learning mindset Strong communication skills (cross-functional, field + office) Proactive, self-starter mindset with desire to learn and figure things out Ability to manage multiple job orders within a single project Must understand that substation work differs significantly from distribution Genuine interest in Transmission & Substation (T&S) environment Willingness to travel to job sites regularly (at least once per week) Ability to attend team meetings (Winters, Concord, San Ramon, etc.) Comfortable working across Bay Area region as needed EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
