Job Overview Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Assistant Director of the Center for Transfer Students & Adult Learners will assist in leading the university’s transfer student and adult learner recruitment initiatives and efforts for the Office of Admissions. The Assistant Director will manage the operational, financial, and personnel functions of the transfer recruitment team, including supervision of transfer recruitment specialists. The Assistant Director will also develop, manage, implement, and evaluate student recruitment strategies for transfer and adult learner students, with a focus on supporting university enrollment goals. The position assumes responsibility for planning, coordinating, and supervising specific recruitment initiatives, including communication campaigns. The position collaborates with unit, campus, and external partners to develop and implement effective transfer student recruitment and communication strategies across the institution. The Assistant Director represents the university to prospective students, guests, and the public. Responsibilities Provide support to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions by managing and executing the transfer and adult student recruitment and admissions plan, including recruitment and admission of transfer students and adult learners, and oversight of special recruitment and application initiatives. Assist in the day‑to‑day administration of the Transfer and Adult Center; develop recruitment strategies, tactics, and expectations, as well as policies and procedures; resolve issues that may arise and handle escalated customer service situations; recommend and implement transfer and adult recruitment initiatives and strategies. Supervise Transfer Center Staff, including onboarding, coaching, performance evaluation, professional development, and team motivation to achieve individual and university goals. Engage with transfer funnel data, set goals, and lead the team in the implementation of new recruitment strategies for transfer and adult learners. Develop and disseminate university information through presentations, college fairs, community college visits, communication plans, drip campaigns, print publications, etc. Work collaboratively with university partners, such as academic units and campus departments, as well as community partners and organizations. Coordinate and execute special projects related to transfer and adult student recruitment. Represent the Office of Admissions on university and/or community committees and represent the office when the Director of Undergraduate Admissions is not available. Position includes travel, weekend, and evening work. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. A personal vehicle and driver's license are highly recommended based on the travel requirements for this role. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, Adult Learning, Student Affairs, or related area, or an equivalent combination of education and training from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired. 3‑4 years experience working in new student recruitment, college admissions, or equivalent. 2‑3 years of experience working with a transfer and/or adult student population in a higher education context, and familiarity with recruitment best practices for those audiences. 2‑3 years of experience using a higher education CRM system, preferably Technolutions Slate. 2‑3 years of experience managing professional or student staff members. Familiarity with higher education database systems such as PeopleSoft, Ellucian Banner, or equivalent. Experience managing complex projects and exercising independent judgment. Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $60,000 - $67,000 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
