L. A. Stevens & Associates, Inc is a full-service Land Surveying firm representing public, private, and commercial clients throughout the Bay Area since 1991.

About the Position:

We are a small firm seeking an experienced, dependable Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of our land surveying business. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable bookkeeping professional who enjoys working independently, maintaining accurate financial records, and keeping business operations organized.

We offer a flexible schedule for the right candidate who can take ownership of the bookkeeping function and provide reliable financial reporting to management.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily bookkeeping activities using QuickBooks Desktop.
• Handle vendor payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, brokerage accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain the general ledger and accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare financial records and reports for the outside CPA.
• Maintain organized records for tax preparation and compliance.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve bookkeeping issues independently.
• Filing of miscellaneous state and federal reports.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience as a full-charge bookkeeper.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop.
• Knowledge of Excel software.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance including journal entries.
• Ability to prepare and understand financial statements.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
• Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
