Position Summary

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer supports daily manufacturing operations by driving technical improvements, resolving equipment issues, and developing preventive maintenance (PM) documentation. This role works closely with supervisors, managers, and production teams to ensure stable, efficient, and safe operations across machining, heat‐treat, and finishing processes. The engineer also participates in cross‐functional teams to identify, implement, and sustain process improvements. Metallurgical knowledge is preferred due to the nature of precision component and heat‐treat manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical and process improvements across machining, grinding, and heat‐treat operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
• Create, update, and standardize preventive maintenance (PM) procedures for critical equipment.
• Partner with supervisors, managers, and operators to ensure smooth daily manufacturing operations.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for scrap, quality issues, and equipment failures.
• Develop and optimize work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) .
• Participate in cross‐functional improvement teams focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with new equipment installation , commissioning, and capability validation.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF 16949 standards and internal quality requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to operators and maintenance teams on process best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering , or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering (automotive preferred).
• Strong understanding of machining, grinding, or heat‐treat processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process‐related issues.
• Experience writing PMs, SOPs, and process documentation .
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Metallurgical knowledge or heat‐treat experience preferred .

Preferred Skills

• CNC machining and centerless grinding knowledge
• Heat‐treat process understanding (carburizing, tempering, induction)
• Root cause analysis (8D, 5‐Why, Fishbone)
• Process capability & statistical analysis (SPC, MSA)
• Continuous improvement / lean manufacturing experience
