About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Operations for Heavy Civil Construction. This executive will be responsible for leading and overseeing large-scale heavy civil construction operations across a portfolio of concurrent projects. Key duties include directing and developing project managers, superintendents, and senior field leadership, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to customer expectations. The role also involves full P&L accountability, establishing and monitoring operational KPIs, and championing safety, quality, and continuous operational improvement. The successful candidate will be expected to build strong relationships with various stakeholders, support major business pursuits, and travel regularly to project sites. Candidates for this position should have a minimum of 15 years' progressive experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong background in infrastructure, transportation, or site development. The role requires a proven track record in managing a large, multi-project portfolio, leading construction teams, and being responsible for project profitability and customer relationships. Experience with both self-performed and subcontracted work, as well as a strong understanding of contracts, estimating, and project controls, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and possess strong executive communication, leadership, and business acumen.
