Operations Technician II (Chestertown)

WHAT YOU'LL DO- Locate underground cable and cable faults
- Read meters and perform routine meter reconnects and disconnects
- Assist with bill collection activities
- Maintain storeroom organization and assist with inventory tracking and material handling
- Clear brush, vines, and vegetation around poles and electrical equipment
- Paint transformers and other equipment as needed
- Maintain grounds, including grass cutting and general site upkeep
- Transport materials and equipment to job sites
- Inspect, test, and number poles and related equipment
- Flag traffic and support safe work zone operations
- Assist with inventory management, material requisitions, and work order preparation (as assigned by district)
- Support operations and member service activities as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic knowledge of electricity preferred; related coursework is a plus
- Six months of electrical field and/or warehousing experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with members and the public
- Familiarity with basic first aid and CPR
- Valid Class "A Restricted" driver's license (or equivalent) with required FMCSR testing
- Ability to complete reports using Microsoft Office and related software
- Must pass metering evaluation within 30 days of placement
- Must pass Temporary Traffic Control Manager exam within 90 days of placement
