Strategic Project Lead, J.D./Legal Expertise [Remote]

Role Overview

Lead end-to-end legal and law-related projects for leading AI lab customers, turning complex customer needs into high-quality data pipelines, evaluations, and feedback that help AI systems learn, reason, and perform. You will coordinate Operations and Legal experts, establish clear delivery plans, and keep fast-moving projects on track from initial scope through final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Own projects from pipeline framing and scoping through execution and delivery.
• Convert customer needs into clear, actionable specifications for legal workflows.
• Design and continuously improve legal-domain pipelines for usability, accuracy, quality, and scalability.
• Coordinate Operations and Legal subject-matter experts for rapid deployment.
• Set delivery milestones and maintain a disciplined execution cadence.
• Manage clear, direct, and consistent client communication.
• Manage Legal domain experts and project leads to support quality and on-time delivery.
• Provide daily internal updates covering progress, blockers, and specific next steps.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree or equivalent law degree required.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in legal practice, legal research, regulatory or compliance work, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience leading complex projects, operational workflows, or legal-related initiatives.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills, especially when partnering with attorneys and senior Legal experts.
• Strong ownership, urgency, attention to detail, and ability to turn ambiguous customer requirements into clear plans and execute quickly.
• An entrepreneurial, execution-focused mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI or machine-learning companies, AI labs, or data annotation and evaluation projects.
• Experience managing legal, technical, or data-intensive projects.
• Familiarity with legal research, contract analysis, litigation, regulatory or compliance work, or other complex legal workflows.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, AI training workflows, and human-in-the-loop operations.

Work Terms

• Full-time, remote role.

Compensation

• The listed annual compensation range is $400, 000 to $550, 000.
• The national base-salary range stated for this full-time position is $180, 000 to $230, 000 USD.
• Employees are eligible for equity compensation and may receive performance-based bonuses, depending on role and company policies.
