Maintenance Technician

Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Category Skilled Labor - Trades Description Position Summary The position performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and installation of equipment for various departments within a location. Principle Accountabilities Adheres to schedule and maintains regular attendance at work-site. Works overtime as assigned. Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifies unsafe working conditions and notifies supervisor. Utilizing a variety of tools, repairs and performs preventative maintenance to equipment throughout the plant and building as required by company guidelines. Inspects equipment to ensure it is in good working order; replaces damaged parts of equipment with new parts; orders parts and installs appropriate parts to machinery; welds parts to equipment during repairs or installations as needed. Assists with minor electrical repairs. Reads and interprets written manuals or communicates with vendors as needed to ensure equipment is properly maintained or installed. Collects and discards worn machine parts; cleans machines and machine parts using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment; removes hardened material from machines or machine parts using abrasives, power and hand tools, sledgehammers, or other equipment; measures, mixes, prepares, and tests chemical solutions used to clean or repair machinery and equipment. Qualifications Position Requirements The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated maintenance experience. Other desired qualifications include: Between 2 to 5 years of previous related experience. Forklift Driving Certification- Preferred. Ability to utilize basic tools to perform routine maintenance. Knowledge of Crane and Hydraulics maintenance.
