Position Overview

The Medical Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for managing patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, answering incoming calls, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate patient records. This individual will work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and fellow administrative team members to support efficient clinic operations and outstanding patient service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and courtesy
• Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently
• Answer multi-line phone systems and assist with appointment scheduling
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect copayments, deductibles, and other patient balances
• Maintain and update patient demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Scan, upload, and organize medical records and patient documentation
• Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to support patient flow and clinic efficiency
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office environment
• Assist with additional administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or administrative role preferred
• Previous front desk, receptionist, or patient service experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Phreesia, Allscripts, and Veradigm preferred, or the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office procedures
• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with computers, scheduling software, and standard office equipment
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
