Patient Access Representative

Patient Registration SpecialistPerforms patient registration. Provides insurance benefits interpretation and counseling. Maintains medical terminology skills and knowledge of third party payer regulations. Performs patient and customer relations. Completes other duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsHigh School or equivalent (GED) or higher is required. Associate Degree: preferred. Bachelors Degree: preferred. 2 years Customer Service is required. 1 to 2 years of Registration and/or Billing experience within a healthcare setting is preferred. Excellent communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required. Basic computer skills.One year of experience in a healthcare front-office, patient access, scheduling, call-center, or customer-service setting preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Basic computer proficiency, including electronic health record (EHR) and Microsoft Office applications.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong customer service orientation and professional telephone communication.Accuracy and attention to detail when entering demographic, insurance, and scheduling information.Ability to manage high call volume and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Working knowledge of scheduling and registration workflows and payer requirements.Discretion in handling confidential patient information.Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentThis position is designated as 100% onsite and is performed primarily in an office and/or clinical setting.
