Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Peds Cardiac ICU experience and an SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• 29-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) at a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
• Patient population includes congenital heart disease patients of any age, with a blend of cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses
• Average daily census of approximately 26 patients; serves as the referral center for all major pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina
• Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity
• Common procedures include cardiac surgery, ventricular assist devices (VADs), heart transplant, cardiac catheterization, and ECMO/CRRT
• All CVPICU beds are monitored beds
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule required, with holiday rotation
• Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is required
• Charting via Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered
• Required certifications (AHA-issued only): PALS and BLS
• Preferred certification (AHA-issued only): ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience required
• Cardiovascular and pediatric nursing experience required
• VAD experience highly preferred
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on unit needs
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
