Pay Range The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience. $27.75 - $46.25 Location Avera Cancer Institute-Sioux Falls Worker Type Regular Work Shift Day Shift (United States of America) Position Highlights May be eligible for a $3000 sign on bonus. This position supports patients and teams across our South Dakota based Avera Cancer Institute locations. The primary role is in infusion, but this position also backfills in clinic. In addition, travel is required so the primary location will be the closest Avera Cancer Institute location to the applicant’s home address. Travel may be required depending on need across Cancer Institute locations in South Dakota. (Mitchell, Yankton, Pierre, Aberdeen, Sioux Falls) Will cover infusion areas as well as clinic M-F 8-4:30. A Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluating care objectives. What You Will Do Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health‑care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; conferring with physicians. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining patients; documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; conferring with family and friends; developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instructing patient, family, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answering questions; providing information and resources. Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care standards; reviewing patient records; noting changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluating care objectives; modifying nursing care plan. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keeps patient care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs. Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items. Required Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing; an active license in the state of practice upon hire and ONS Fundamentals Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society within 60 Days or ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society within 60 Days and ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society upon expiration of ONS Fundamentals Provider Card or within 2 years of hire, whichever is later. Preferred Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience Previous Oncology experience.
