Direct Support Professional - In-Home Respite

Summary Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is seeking a creative and energetic Direct Support Professional to provide assistance in an in‑home setting for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Gulfport, MS. The role involves supporting daily activities, offering emotional support, supervising community outings, and collaborating with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for clients. Job Details County: Harrison City: Gulfport FT/PT Status: Regular Part Time Education: High School Diploma Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must obtain a Mississippi CDL Class C Driver’s License within 60 days of hire. Valid Mississippi Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record (no moving violations within 3 years). Will pass CPR, MANDT, and other required testing. Experience working with the IDD population preferred. Experience assisting others with ADLs preferred. Responsibilities Act as a model for appropriate behavior. Provide transportation to and from facilities and community activities. Perform other work‑oriented tasks as assigned by supervisor. Train participants in skills and conduct daily activities, training, and documentation for IDD day programs. Eat lunch on site with participants and take breaks on site. Remain on site for the entire workday, except as authorized by supervisor. Demonstrate the importance of community involvement, social interactions, and maintaining relationships. Assist with job exploration, application, train individuals on job‑specific duties, and enhance natural supports in the work environment to facilitate independence.
