Sales Associate

Position Type: Hourly Position Starting At: $11.00 Responsibilities Greet and assist customers promptly, handling multiple customers efficiently. Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations; engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability. Promote store events and promotions to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales. Resolve customer concerns, using product knowledge to offer alternative solutions and attempting to turn returns into exchanges when possible. Communicate needs to management, providing timely updates on merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback. Support the team and company goals by collaborating to achieve overall store objectives and maintaining a positive, productive work environment. Qualifications At least 16 years old. Available to work a flexible schedule. Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers and mobile devices. Good communicator with the ability to engage customers. Capable of handling customer interactions and potential issues or concerns courteously and professionally. Use basic information‑gathering skills to solve problems. Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on‑the‑job training. Essential Job Functions Frequently operate cash registers. Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place or remove items up to a height of 5‑10 feet. Frequently ascend or descend ladders to retrieve and store stock. Frequently position oneself to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor. Frequently communicate with customers in the store and via telephone, and with managers and coworkers; accurate information exchange is required. Frequently move across the sales floor to assist customers and to and from the stock room. Work a flexible schedule that may include day, evening, weekend, overnight shifts, and travel as required. Identify and follow email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures. Remains in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
