Payroll Specialist

Constellation Search Group is looking for a Payroll Specialist for a full-time position. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing complex payroll functions for all company employees, including salaried, hourly, and union staff. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and a thorough understanding of payroll processing, collective bargaining agreements, and labor laws. Responsibilities: Process weekly payroll for a large, unionized construction workforce, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements to ensure accurate wage calculations and compliance with union-specific terms. Manage employee benefits, deductions, and garnishments in compliance with CBAs and relevant laws. Ensure accurate reporting and deductions for union dues, health benefits, and other contractual obligations. Perform monthly payroll reconciliation to General Ledger accounts. Prepare and submit payroll reports, including tax filings and required union reports. Handle payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure accurate employee records. Stay updated on changes in labor laws and CBA terms. Assist with audits and financial report preparations related to payroll. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information discreetly. Support payroll system updates and troubleshoot any related issues. Qualifications: Experience working with collective bargaining agreements in a unionized setting, particularly within the construction industry. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proven experience in processing payroll for a unionized workforce, including understanding of union rules and certified payroll processing. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, including tax regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality. Experience with construction software systems like Vista Viewpoint preferred.
