Job Coach / Employment Specialist

Ability and Choice Services, Inc. (ACS) of South Salt Lake, UT is looking to hire a full‑time Job Coach / ACRE Certified Employment Specialist. Please see important information regarding benefit plans and eligibility to work: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A JOB COACH / EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST As a Job Coach / Employment Specialist, you provide essential direct supported employment services to adults with disabilities. In order to help them find and maintain competitive employment in the community, you participate in job development, vocational assessments, job site & task analyses, job matches, intensive on‑the‑job training, fading, and documentation. You apply the job coaching methods that you've been trained in accordance with the goals and objectives of the person‑centered support plan (PCSP) or team objectives. After placement, you ensure the service recipients successful integration into the work environment, gradually fading their dependence. You keep clear, accurate, and up‑to‑date records at all times. When necessary, you assist in transportation. As a collaborative member of the team, you also participate in the development of the person‑centered support plan (PCSP) and goal‑setting process as well as maintain open and honest communications with the Supported Employment Director. You provide each service recipient's work schedule to the residential staff and coordinators. You always advocate for the best interests of the service recipient, behaving in a professional and respectful manner at all times. As an advocate, you educate the public, employers, co‑workers, and the general public about supported employment. You are always working to improve and update your job coaching methods and find the work of supporting people with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives according to their own needs and abilities extremely rewarding! (acs) Family-owned since 1987, we operate a social and community access hub in Salt Lake and Tooele Counties along with integrated employment supports and in‑home care for adults with developmental disabilities. Our day program serves as a community gathering hub for participants to socialize, learn life skills, and access the greater community with their peers. Our participants (along with staff) enjoy going to community assets such as parks, the zoo, the aquarium, the movies, volunteering, and bowling--as well as taking semi‑annual field trips to destinations such as Wendover and Boondocks. Qualifications For a Job Coach / Employment Specialist 18+ years old Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Clean criminal record (no history of abuse, exploitation, or other related offenses on the Medicaid Exclusion list or any felony in the last 10 years) Ability to pass periodic drug testing Good driving record and reliable personal transportation Obtain/posses a CPR/first aid card, and a local food handlers permit Able to use and operate a laptop and smart phone (company issued) Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. A heart for serving people with developmental disabilities Able to present a professi nal appearance appropriate for a variety 3rd party employment environments Have an ACRE SE certification or obtain the certification within 45 days through paid self paced and instructor led remote learning Are you punctual and reliable? WORK SCHEDULE

Supports for this position may occur anytime during a 24‑hour day, depending on the needs of the individuals served, but generally is during normal office or retail hours.
