First Discovery Children's Academy is looking for a Part-time Preschool Chef to join our team at our 5355 Lila Lane location. If you're passionate about preparing nutritious meals, enjoy staying organized, and want to be part of a positive, family-oriented environment, we'd love to meet you!

Schedule
Monday–Friday
7:30 AM – 1:30 PM
(Additional hours may be available for the right candidate.)
What You'll Do
As our Preschool Chef, you'll play an important role in keeping our children healthy and happy by:
- Preparing nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and afternoon snacks following USDA guidelines
- Washing, cutting, and preparing fresh fruits and vegetables
- Planning and preparing monthly snack menus
- Calculating meal portions for children of different age groups
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
- Managing food inventory, ordering supplies, and staying within budget
- Keeping kitchen equipment, refrigerators, and pantry areas clean and organized
- Purchasing food and supplies using a company vehicle
- Assisting the management team with additional duties as needed
What We're Looking For
We're searching for someone who is:
- Passionate about cooking and serving children
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable managing inventory and food budgets
- Knowledgeable in food safety and sanitation
- A team player with a positive attitude
Requirements
- Current Virginia Food Manager Certification
- Previous cooking experience (school or large-group food preparation preferred)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety
Pay
